Texas hit hardest, Arizona and Florida in similar circumstances.
This past week, the south and west of the United States had the highest surge of coronavirus cases in the country to date, pushing their hospitals close to capacity once again. Their governors are striking a more urgent tone with their citizens, although critics of their early reopenings in May call it to be too little, too late.
In Jacksonville, Florida, 5,000 new cases were reported in the last two days. Governor DeSantis has not made it a statewide mandate to wear masks, but is now allowing individual cities to create their own mandates in response to their own spikes in cases.
Concerns have been expressed by hospital officials in California and Arizona about the extent of travel across the southern border promoting the spread of the pandemic. An increase in cases has seen an increase in Mexican border cities as well.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For doctors, nurses, and hospitals in the states at the nations southwestern border.
- That state governors would be given wisdom in how best to lead those in their jurisdiction.
- That the Lord would bless the efforts of the governors and President Trump.
